Full-Time Math Tutor

Position Summary:

 

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Full-Time Math Tutor with a degree in Applied Mathematics to support high school students across all levels—Regular, Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) math courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of advanced mathematical concepts and a proven ability to help students excel in rigorous academic environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in high school math subjects, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (AP AB/BC), Statistics (including AP), Trigonometry, and IB Mathematics (SL/HL).
  • Customize instruction based on each student's curriculum, learning goals, and academic level (Regular, Honors, AP, or IB).
  • Support students in preparing for classroom assessments, standardized exams (SAT, ACT), and external exams such as AP and IB.
  • Identify gaps in student understanding and provide targeted remediation.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and academic staff to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Create and share supplemental resources (practice problems, study guides, conceptual summaries) tailored to high school coursework.
  • Stay current with high school curriculum changes and exam requirements, including College Board and IB standards.
  • Track student performance and maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and outcomes.
  • Send weekly progress reports and curriculum development for AMC and other math competitions to students' parents. 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of high school math topics and standards, including AP and IB frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and effectively.
  • Prior experience working with high school students in an academic setting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience tutoring at a company or institution

Preferred:

  • Teaching certification or graduate-level coursework in education or mathematics.
  • Experience tutoring AP and/or IB Math students.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for remote or blended instruction (Zoom, Google Classroom, Desmos, etc.).
  • Track record of improving student outcomes in high-level math courses.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position (40 hours/week); may include after-school or weekend hours to meet student availability.
  • In-person, remote, or hybrid depending on the institution's structure and student needs.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $72,500 starting salary based on experience and qualifications.
