LPI Summer Intern

The Lunar and Planetary Institute invites undergraduates with at least 50 semester hours of credit to experience cutting-edge research in the lunar and planetary sciences. As a Summer Intern, you will work one-on-one with a scientist at the LPI or at the NASA Johnson Space Center on a research project of current interest in lunar and planetary science.
Selections are made on the basis of information provided in the submitted application, such as academic experience and scientific interest, as well as specific research project requirements.
The 10-week program runs from June 1-August 7, 2026 Selected interns will receive financial support (amount TBD) to cover the costs associated with being in Houston for the duration of the program.
Selected participants will be notified in March 202.
