Special Education Teacher, Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe)

Job Summary

Under supervision of Special Education Program Administrator, will provide quality education to severely handicapped students, ages 18 months to 22 years, through a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs; a functional, community based curriculum; communication and social skill development; interagency cooperation, and a strong parent-teacher-student linkage. Opportunities exist to develop and experiment with adaptive technology, vocational education, and integration with non-handicapped populations. Does related work as required. Requirements / Qualifications

Successful candidate must possess a valid California credential or have the ability to secure a California credential. Interns are accepted. This position is represented by the California Teachers Association.

Length of Work Year

183 Workdays, Full Time, Monday - Friday

ANNUAL STIPEND

An additional $5,000 Stipend shall be granted for certificated employees assigned to the Special Education Department
