Insect Production Technician

You’ll love coming to work each day if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

• Do mass rearing of insect pupae, eggs, and handle diet ingredients.
• Handle containers and operate equipment for holding and collecting insects.
• Provide food to insects, monitor temperature, observe conditions, and harvest insects.
• Assist in other insect product preparation and packaging and product development.
• Identify and work on areas of improvement to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
• Sort and haul waste products.

You’ll have success with us if you value clear processes and feel qualified to do tasks such as:

• Separate insects over a vacuum table.
• Winnow, wash, dry, package, label parasitized fly pupae for cool storage and shipment.
• Ensure sensitive production and storage spaces are within the desired temperature range
• Empty trays of media to barrels and load them on a truck for delivery to a farm.  
• Maintain receptacles for sorting of trash, compostables and recycling at work stations
