Elementary Gifted and Talented Facilitator
The position of an Elementary Gifted and Talented Facilitator will be available at East Central ISD for the 2025-2026 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website.The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm., July 04, 2025, or until the position is filled.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences based on the district G/T guidelines to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the needs of gifted and talented students based on the district G/T guidelines.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of gifted and talented students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
- Serve as a resource to the school staff by conducting staff development on characteristics of gifted and talented students and provide enrichment activities for the regular classroom.
- Assume responsibility for the selection process and testing of G/T Students.
- Facilitate parent/school communication including assisting with parent nights.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
- Assess students for the gifted and talented program.
- Serve on the campus G/T Committee.
- Assume responsibility for continued professional development in the areas of gifted and talented.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certificate:
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Minimum of 30 clock hours of G/T training required by the state (preferred)
Bilingual (preferred)
Experience:
East Central Independent School District experience (preferred)
Three or more years teaching experience
Experience with multimedia technology
EQUIPMENT USED: Computer (Internet and multimedia software), projector, document camera, printer, copier, telephone, fax
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Protracted and irregular hours of work. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position student’s with physical disabilities: control behavior through physical restraint; and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards. Daily district-wide travel between schools.

SALARY: Based on the 2025-2026 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale
