Geotechnical Lab Technician

Role Description

The Geotechnical Lab Technician will perform tasks such as preparing and testing soil, aggregate, and concrete samples in accordance with established AASHTO and ASTM protocols and standards. Responsibilities also include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, logging data, and maintaining accurate records for internal and external reporting. The technician will work in a dynamic environment to support geotechnical engineering and construction inspection services. Given the entry level nature of this role, training will be provided. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Baltimore, MD.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with algebra
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong Quality Control and Analytical Skills
  • Familiarity with practices required for Laboratory Technicians
  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining precise records
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory standards
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a geotechnical lab or construction inspection is a plus
  • Proficiency with Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills related to geotechnical and construction material testing a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, etc.) is preferred
  • Prior lab experience in college coursework is a plus
