Position Overview
As a Software & IT Engineer at usCalibration Incorporated, you will work on both software development and enterprise IT systems, building the applications that run the business while ensuring the IT infrastructure they depend on is robust, scalable, and secure.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and evolve the company’s technology strategy
- Establish governance and standards across software and IT systems
- Evaluate and implement new technologies aligned with business needs
- Lead or contribute to system migrations, upgrades, and new platform implementations
- Document systems, architectures, and processes clearly and thoroughly
Key Responsibilities
IT Engineering:
- Own and continuously improve the company’s IT and cloud environment including Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, and endpoints
- Manage vendor relationships and technical procurement decisions
- Ensure reliable, secure, and performant environments for software systems and internal operations
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure supporting applications, data, and integrations
- Oversee cybersecurity practices including access control, patching, and monitoring
- Support network architecture including VPNs, firewalls, routing, and wireless infrastructure
- Manage backup, disaster recovery, and system reliability strategies
- Administer and standardize digital workspaces such as SharePoint and Teams
- Provide high level troubleshooting and support for complex system issues
Software Engineering:
- Design, build, and maintain internal and customer facing applications using Microsoft technologies such as C#, .NET, Azure, SQL, Power Platform, and Dynamics
- Develop scalable system architectures that support long term business objectives and operational efficiency
- Partner with operations teams to translate workflows into simple, effective software solutions
- Contribute to system design decisions, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Implement best practices across software development including code quality, testing, DevOps, and CI/CD
- Optimize user experience and usability for both technical and non technical users
- Support data driven systems and analytics environments
Requirements/Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with GPA 3.5 or higher
- Strong software development experience with C#, .NET, SQL, and cloud-based systems
- Solid understanding of software architecture and system design tradeoffs
- Working knowledge of infrastructure and IT systems including networking, cloud, identity, and security
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and modern development workflows
- Strong problem-solving ability with a bias toward ownership and execution
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Interest in aligning technical work with business outcomes
Preferred Experience
- Experience in hybrid roles spanning software and infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems engineering
- Exposure to cloud architecture and distributed systems
- Experience in high growth or operationally complex environments
- Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices
- Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem including Azure, Dynamics, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform
- Certifications such as Azure, AWS, or Security+ are a plus
Schedule
Full Time.
Monday – Friday, beginning at 7am. Hours worked each week depends on business needs, but generally ranges from 40-55.
