Position: Music Teacher – Bernice Vossbeck Elementary
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Washington State Teacher Certificate with endorsements in Elementary Education, Designated Arts: Music, or Designated Arts: Choral
- Knowledge and experience with Music curriculum
- Possess energy and enthusiasm
- Work collaboratively with other district educators
- Successful experience working with elementary school students
- Demonstration of positive experience teaming and working with others
- Successful experience using effective teaching strategies for students who speak English as their second language
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate effective instructional activities in the areas of reading, written language and mathematics to meet student needs and district goals
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design activities/lessons to meet state standards
- Teaches skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music
- Plans/executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished with the allotted time
- Evaluates each student’s musical growth, performance, and musical understanding. Assesses each individual’s contribution to the performance of the group
- Create and maintain a positive and orderly learning condition in the music environment
- Plan and participate in concerts
- Ensure developmentally appropriate skills and activities are implemented
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work Year: 2026-2027 school year; Continuing Position
Starting Date: August 26, 2026
FTE: 1.0 FTE
Hours: 7 hours per day; Monday – Friday; 7:50 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.
Salary: Per negotiated LEA contract. 25/26 Salary Range for 1.0 FTE is $ 69,031 - $ 136,249 dependent upon degree, credits, and school district teaching experience.
Benefits: This position qualifies for healthcare benefits (medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance), retirement benefits, up to 12 days of sick leave, and up to three (3) days of personal leave per school year. (Days of sick leave and personal leave are prorated based on employee start date.
