Housekeeper and Laundry
A Housekeeper and Laundry role at a Comfort Inn & Suites involves ensuring 10 to 15 rooms are thoroughly cleaned per shift while simultaneously managing the hotel's on-site laundry operations. This critical frontline position requires strong multitasking, physical stamina, and a keen eye for hygiene.
Core Housekeeping Responsibilities
- Room Cleaning: Strip beds, change linens, make beds, and sanitize bathrooms (toilets, showers, and vanities).
- Deep Cleaning: Dust furniture, wipe down mirrors/windows, vacuum carpets, and mop floors.
- Restocking: Replenish guest amenities such as towels, soap, shampoo, and coffee supplies.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans, remove recycling, and dispose of soiled room service items.
- Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any broken appliances, torn upholstery, or maintenance issues to the head housekeeper or front desk.
Core Laundry Responsibilities
- Wash & Dry: Sort, wash, and dry all dirty hotel linens, including sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, washcloths, and pool towels.
- Folding: Neatly fold and organize clean linens and towels using commercial washers/dryers and folders.
- Inventory Control: Ensure a steady supply of clean linens is readily available for room attendants to use throughout their shifts.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and report any malfunctioning commercial machinery.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift/carry heavy loads (up to 25-50 lbs) for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
- Time Management: Capable of working efficiently to meet the hotel's strict turnaround times.
- Detail-Oriented: A strict focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards.
