Direct Support Professional

Locations:

  • We serve clients across multiple counties in the state of Oregon, which continues to expand based on the number of individuals served.

DSP Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and individualized support to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities both at home and in the community.
  • Follow specialized client-driven behavior support plans
  • Assist with daily living skills such as meal prep, hygiene, medication administration, and transportation.
  • Support behavior and health plans as directed by clinical teams.
  • Document care, behavior observations, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergencies and implement safety protocols when needed.
  • Advocate for client choice, autonomy, and community involvement.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to service planning.
  • Promote independence, quality of life, and empowerment of those we serve.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a DSP or similar caregiving role.
  • OIS (Oregon Intervention System) Training – Required (we can certify)
  • Evening and weekend availability – Required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Clear background check and compliance with state licensing standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex medical or behavioral needs.
  • Leadership potential or prior experience in a supervisory or mentor role.
  • Familiarity with person-centered planning, trauma-informed care, or positive behavior support.
