Position Summary

Join a growing, team-oriented building materials supplier as an Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.

Essential Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices.

Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.

Maintain accurate vendor files and supporting documentation.

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

Assist with month-end closing activities.

Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Maintain organized and confidential accounting records.

Assist with other accounting functions and administrative projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Education & Experience

Qualified candidates may possess any combination of the following:

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Equivalent Accounts Payable or accounting experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Accounts Payable experience.

Experience using ERP or accounting software.

Understanding of basic accounting principles.

Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or building materials is a plus.

Monday-Friday

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications.
