Commercial Diver / Hull Cleaning Technician (Seasonal)

About Us
J Sea Divers is a commercial diving company based in Newport, Rhode Island, specializing in underwater hull cleaning, inspections, and maintenance for yachts, sailboats, commercial vessels, and marinas throughout Narragansett Bay.
We're looking for dependable, motivated divers who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a hardworking team.
Responsibilities
- Perform underwater hull cleaning on recreational and commercial vessels
- Remove marine growth using hand tools and underwater cleaning equipment
- Conduct underwater inspections and report findings
- Assist with mooring inspections and other commercial diving projects
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain equipment
- Work effectively as part of a two-person dive team
Qualifications
- Open Water Scuba certification required (Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, or Instructor certifications are a plus)
- Comfortable working underwater in varying visibility and weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to lift and carry dive equipment
- Must have reliable transportation
Commercial diving experience is not required. We provide training in our surface-supplied diving system and commercial cleaning procedures.
Position Details
- Seasonal position with immediate openings
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Meet daily at 8:00 AM at Newport Shipyard
- Work throughout Newport and surrounding coastal areas
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
