Entry-Level SAS Programmer

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level SAS Programmer to support data processing, validation, analysis, and reporting activities. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of senior programmers and project managers and will receive training on industry standards, programming procedures, and project workflows.

This position is suitable for recent graduates or candidates with foundational knowledge of SAS, statistics, data analysis, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with data cleaning, transformation, validation, and analysis using SAS.

Write, test, debug, and maintain SAS programs under senior-level supervision.

Generate tables, listings, reports, and basic data summaries.

Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of programming outputs.

Review data specifications, project requirements, and programming documentation.

Support the preparation and maintenance of project-related documents, program logs, and validation records.

Identify data issues and communicate findings to senior programmers or project team members.

Participate in project meetings, technical training, and regular progress reviews.

Follow company programming standards, documentation requirements, and data confidentiality policies.

Assist with other data analysis and programming tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of SAS programming, including DATA steps, PROC SQL, and commonly used SAS procedures.

Understanding of data structures, data cleaning, and basic statistical concepts.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in a team environment.

Prior internship, academic project, or coursework involving SAS is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with SAS Macro Language, PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE, or SAS ODS.

Basic knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Excel, or data visualization tools.

Exposure to clinical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial, or business data is a plus.

Understanding of programming validation and quality control processes is preferred.

Training and Supervision

The employee will receive structured training and ongoing supervision from experienced team members. Initial assignments will focus on fundamental SAS programming, data validation, documentation, and quality control. Responsibilities may gradually increase based on performance, technical development, and project needs.
