SideCoach Sports is a privately backed sports technology company building software for athletes, families, coaches, and universities.
Our platform connects youth athletes with current college athletes for private lessons while also providing universities with software to manage camps, registrations, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
Founded by former Division I athletes, our mission is to make elite coaching more accessible, create earning opportunities for college athletes, and build technology that saves athletic departments time while improving the experience for coaches, parents, and athletes.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Waco, Texas.
This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable working on both the frontend and backend, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and wants to own projects from concept through production.
A significant portion of this role involves taking high-quality HTML, CSS, and JavaScript designs and integrating them into our production web applications while ensuring seamless functionality with our existing backend systems. You'll also contribute to our mobile application, internal software tools, and core platform as we continue to scale.
You'll work directly with the CEO, COO, Lead Engineer, and the rest of our engineering team to rapidly build new features, improve existing products, and help shape the future of SideCoach Sports.
This is a high-ownership role where you'll be trusted to solve problems, make technical decisions, and move projects forward with minimal supervision.
As an early-stage startup, priorities evolve quickly. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to contribute wherever the business needs support.
What You'll Do
Frontend Development
- Transform HTML, CSS, and JavaScript designs into production-ready application features.
- Integrate UI updates into our existing web application while maintaining clean, scalable code.
- Build responsive interfaces across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Develop reusable components and maintain a consistent user experience.
- Improve application performance, usability, and accessibility.
Full Stack Development
- Build new features across both frontend and backend systems.
- Connect frontend interfaces to backend APIs and services.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs.
- Work with relational databases and backend services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full application stack.
- Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Mobile Application Development
- Contribute to feature development for our React Native mobile application.
- Ensure consistency between the web and mobile experiences.
- Assist with testing, debugging, and deploying new mobile features.
Product Development
- Work directly with company leadership to transform ideas into production software.
- Help prioritize features and technical improvements.
- Recommend solutions that improve the customer experience and simplify internal operations.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve our products and engineering processes.
Business Operations & Special Projects
As an early-stage startup, business priorities can change quickly. In addition to software development, this role will occasionally involve technical projects that support the broader needs of the company.
Examples include:
- Building internal tools and automations.
- Integrating third-party software platforms.
- Creating scripts and utilities that automate repetitive business processes.
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies.
- Supporting technical initiatives across multiple departments.
- Assisting with operational or business-related projects when needed.

Qualifications
Required
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript.
- Strong experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Excellent HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
- Ability to take HTML, CSS, and JavaScript designs and integrate them into a production application.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs.
- Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, component-based development, and state management.
- Experience working across both frontend and backend systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as business needs change.
- Ability to maintain focus and commitment to SideCoach Sports as your primary professional responsibility.
Preferred
- Experience with React Native.
- Experience deploying applications to Azure.
- Experience working with SQL databases.
- Experience building SaaS applications.
- Previous startup experience.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or Windsurf.
- Interest in sports technology.

Work Expectations
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Waco, Texas. Employees are expected to work from our Waco office and collaborate closely with the engineering and leadership teams.
This is an exempt, salaried position. The successful candidate is expected to work the schedule necessary to effectively perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the role. Due to the nature of our business, this position requires flexibility, including regular availability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate. Weekend work is an expected part of this role and may be required to support customer needs, university events, product launches, travel, and other critical business priorities.
Work schedules will vary based on operational demands, and employees are expected to exercise sound judgment in managing their time while ensuring business objectives are met.
