Analytics Associate

Department: Analytics

Reports to: Chief Analytics Officer

About Dracoe

Dracoe is a North Carolina-based start-up focusing on designing, manufacturing and supporting small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and associated software for defense applications.

Role Purpose

Dracoe is looking for a junior data scientist or analytics generalist to join the Analytics department. This is an early-career role suited to a recent graduate or someone with only a few years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field.

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of projects, helping Dracoe to capture and analyze data from across the business: manufacturing, supply chain, flight testing and operations, and customer deployment.

The role is deliberately generalist: the job holder should be comfortable working on varied, sometimes ambiguous problems, and should be excited by the opportunity to build analytical capability in a fast-moving start-up environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Work with the Chief Analytics Officer to devise systems for data collection and analysis across Dracoe to help internal teams to understand performance, improve output and make better decisions.

Lead the effort to ensure that these systems are adopted and integrated into day-to-day business practices across Dracoe.

Play a key role in down-selecting SaaS tools and AI-native technologies that will assist Dracoe to secure and retain an information advantage. Prepare the ground for the integration of future technologies by taking ownership of Dracoe’s ontology.

Support customer engagements, ensuring that analytical rigor continues to be central to Dracoe’s product and service offerings.

Work flexibly on ad hoc analytical projects as the needs of the business evolve. Be adaptable and independent, able to drive varied projects forward with vigor and enthusiasm.

Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, or a related discipline.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
