Software Engineer I

Job Title: Software Engineer I – Layout Automation (Entry-Level / Intern)

Role Overview We are seeking a recent college graduate or current student to join us as a Software Engineer focused on Layout Automation. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and hardware design by using Python to automate the physical layout of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. You will write scripts that literally draw the circuits, helping our engineering team move from schematic to physical design faster and more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain Python scripts that automate the drawing and physical layout of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Apply object-oriented programming (OOP) principles to build scalable, clean, and reusable layout automation tools.
  • Collaborate directly with hardware engineers to understand circuit topologies, design rules, and physical layout constraints.
  • Assist in debugging layout scripts and optimizing the software architecture of our internal design tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Coding Proficiency: Strong foundational coding skills with a solid grasp of basic object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
  • Language: Hands-on experience coding in Python.
  • Hardware Knowledge: A basic, conceptual understanding of transistors and analog/mixed-signal circuits. You do not need to be an expert in chip design, but an interest in how physical circuits are constructed is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
