Compassionate ABA & Therapeutic Services is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and collaborative Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing multidisciplinary team serving children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Our therapists work alongside ABA, Speech-Language Pathology, and Occupational Therapy professionals to provide high-quality, family-centered care that promotes independence and meaningful participation in daily life.
Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced clinician, we provide mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment.
Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Support children in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, feeding, and adaptive living skills.
- Facilitate engaging, play-based therapy sessions.
- Document treatment sessions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, BCBAs, RBTs, teachers, physicians, and families.
- Educate caregivers on strategies to support skill generalization at home.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and child-friendly therapy environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Virginia COTA license (or eligibility).
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for working with children and families.
Preferred:
- Pediatric experience.
- Experience with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities.
- Feeding and sensory integration experience.
