About the Role
The Lab/Quality Technician will be responsible for incoming quality testing of current line items, maintaining product standards, handling of basic chemicals, ordering and storage, and maintaining warehouse storage for the Quality Team. In addition, the Lab/Quality Technician will manage the outreach to raw material suppliers for back-up documentation as well as assist in the day-to-day product inspection and quality department needs.
This role works fully onsite at our Wilmer TX location.
What You will Do:
- Perform lab work and assist in the testing of samples as assigned by Quality
- Promotes a safe working environment and complies with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures and JPMS safety rules, and applicable operational procedures and policies
- Evaluate incoming production and pilot samples
- Filling, labeling, and preparing samples for shipment
- Reporting OOS and testing results to the Quality team
- Record and communicate any observations clearly
- Work with the Quality Team on product inspections and investigative projects
- Review and scan in supporting documents to our document control system for products and chemicals received
- Provide routine technical support for day-to-day laboratory operations
- Assemble, configure, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments for use in tests and experiments
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain laboratory work areas, cleanrooms, and equipment in accordance with established procedures
- Operate laboratory equipment, prepare chemical solutions, and perform analytical tests as assigned
- Record test results and maintain laboratory records, logs, and documentation as instructed
- Other duties may be assigned by Quality, within scope of role
Required Qualifications:
Skills:
- Basic PC knowledge
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good time management skills & ability to follow through on assignments
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree or college-level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science a plus
Relevant military, vocational, or trade training in a laboratory, chemical, or scientific field will be considered in lieu of formal education
Experience:
- 1+ year prior experience in a laboratory, quality, or manufacturing environment preferred

Competitive Compensation:
The expected hourly range for this position is $19.23 to $21.15. The exact hourly rate is determined by various factors including geographic location, experience, skills, and education.
Discretionary Bonus Plan: This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
