Our Data & AI team sits at the intersection of off-road vehicle engineering and advanced analytics. We have deep expertise in mechanical systems, telematics, CAN communication protocols, vehicle data offboarding, and big data processing. We use that domain knowledge to deliver high-quality data analysis and insights to engineering and program stakeholders. Our processes are grounded in rigorous Verification & Validation (V&V) disciplines to deliver high-quality data. We develop Agentic AI solutions that provide increased efficiency and flexibility to our stakeholders and internal team processes.  As our team grows, we are looking to strengthen our software engineering capabilities to scale our tooling, automate workflows, and enhance our development practices.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated early-career Software Engineer (2+ years of experience) with a Computer Science background to join our team as a long-term contributor. You will work alongside experienced vehicle data engineers and analysts to build internal tooling, automate job orchestration, and maintain CI/CD pipelines — enabling the team to move faster and focus on higher-order analysis work. This is a heads-down engineering role with a meaningful impact on the team's overall productivity. The right candidate will be technically sharp, self-directed, and eager to learn the large-scale data domain and product application over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain internal tooling that supports team data workflows and reduces manual effort
  • Own and improve GitHub CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, repeatable deployments
  • Develop and manage automated Databricks job orchestration and workflow scheduling
  • Collaborate with data engineers to support pipeline development on an as-needed basis
  • Write clear documentation for tooling, processes, and automation solutions
  • Support Repo management - participate in code reviews, uphold software quality standards, and contribute to team engineering practices
  • Develop or consume REST APIs to connect internal systems or trigger automated workflows

Technical Skills

Required

  • Python: primary development language for tooling, automation, and scripting
  • GitHub / Git: branching strategies, pull request workflows, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipeline management
  • Databricks, Snowflake, or Equivalent: notebooks, jobs, Workflows for job orchestration and scheduling
  • SQL: querying and transforming structured data; basic ETL/data engineering concepts
  • Workflow Orchestration: understanding of dependency management, scheduling, and pipeline patterns
  • VS Code: modern IDE proficiency including extensions, debugging, and integrated terminal workflows, and GitHub Copilot integration.

Nice to Have Experience

  • REST APIs: experience building or consuming RESTful APIs in Python (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, requests)
  • Databricks Asset Bundles: or equivalent infrastructure-as-code approaches for Databricks resource management
  • Docker / Containers: basic containerization concepts for reproducible environments
  • Delta Lake / Parquet: familiarity with columnar and transactional data formats used in lakehouse architectures
  • Off-Road / Telematics: any exposure to vehicle data, CAN bus, or telematics systems is a strong plus

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a cross-disciplinary environment alongside domain experts
  • Strong written communication skills — ability to produce clear documentation and process notes
  • Process-oriented mindset with attention to detail; comfortable working within V&V and quality frameworks
  • Fast learner with the intellectual curiosity to pick up off-road vehicle and telematics domain knowledge
  • Self-directed and comfortable working heads-down on complex technical problems with limited hand-holding
  • Dependable and consistent; takes ownership of deliverables and communicates proactively on blockers

Experience & Education

  • 2+  years of professional software development experience, including internships or co-op roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable Python code
  • Experience working in a collaborative Git-based development workflow
  • Experience with Identifying business needs and developing recommendations and solutions
