Senior Director, Business and Legal Affairs
Lionsgate is currently seeking an attorney to join the Employment Legal team as a Senior Director, Business and Legal Affairs, reporting to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs. The successful candidate will have a background in labor and employment matters, having worked in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with across Human Resources and the organization to provide legal advice and counseling regarding general labor and employment issues including performance management, employee classification, accommodations, workplace harassment and other relevant labor and employment issues
- Negotiate, draft and review high volume of various agreements including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, and vendor agreements
- Serve as subject matter expert and resource for internal stakeholders, including tracking and providing updates on employment-related legislative and regulatory activities and developments Support complex projects with cross-functional partners to enhance company-wide employment law compliance
- Assist in investigations and partner with internal litigation team and external counsel to respond to employment- related claims or disputes
- Advise on employment-related production matters.
- Qualifications and Skills
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice (and in good standing) in at least one state 4+ years of experience in labor and employment law
- Experience providing strategic legal advice and counseling to HR professionals Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- Nice to Haves
- Licensed in California
- Extensive experience in workplace investigations Experience with production related employment matters
- Experience with data privacy, ethics and/or compliance Strong analytical skills
