Environmental, Health, And Safety Manager
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of short- and long-term safety, health, and risk initiatives to establish and maintain a robust occupational safety program. The manager is also tasked with developing a Safety Committee and management to execute policies to maintain compliance to all governmental safety regulations and promote workplace safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Oversee day-to-day operations in the EH&S department.
· Coordinate site Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability programs.
· Develop, strategize, and implement a long-term plan for the site(s) EH&S function.
· Influence management to drive EH&S performance aligned with production goals.
· Maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
· Develop and oversee a Safety Committee that will evaluate hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks.
· Develop health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitor safety compliance to reduce associated risk.
· Organize contingency plans, including fire prevention and procedures for controlling hazardous spills in accordance with government regulations and insurance company requirements.
· Develop inspection policies and establish regular inspection schedules.
· Provide orientation sessions, including but not limited to emergency preparedness, confined spaces, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, and forklift safety.
· Maintain records of hazardous waste, air emission permitting, and water pollution discharge, as well as industrial health monitoring and records of employee hazard exposure in accordance with OSHA regulations.
· Foster an environment that allows site staff and responsible departments to interact and develop processes and procedures that comply with corporate directives and promote continuous improvement.
· Comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, Company policy, and accepted safe work practices.
· Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001) as applicable to manufacturing.
· Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, professional and regulatory agency standards, and licensure requirements.
· Demonstrated commitment to the successful EH&S management of chemical processes and facilities.
· Implements and maintains programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the Area; Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT)/Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other Federal and State regulations.
· Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
· Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries.
· Generate compliance reports as required. Update documents to remain current with the latest requirements and legislation.
· Strong knowledge of requirements of 29 CFR 1910 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards)
· Direct and coordinate site Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability programs and compliances
· Responsible for leading the successful use of EHS management systems, which includes the Corporate EHS Directs, ISO 14001 certification, and any other applicable EHS management system certifications or elements.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Health and Safety Sciences, Environmental Resources Mgmt, or related technical field.
· Minimum 5- 7 years of progressive EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong environmental background with knowledge of EPA, ADEQ, and MCAQD regulations.
· Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems as applicable
· Extensive expertise in leading and executing projects.
· Knowledge of production operation methods.
· The ability to work under your own initiative is important, as is the ability to prioritize multiple workloads and tasks while meeting timelines.
· Must have persistence and perseverance to be successful in a high intensity, ever-changing working environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· EH&S-related licenses, certifications, and membership in EH&S professional associations are desired.
· Experience implementing and maintaining ISO certifications at a manufacturing site is preferred.
· Knowledge of Lean Principles and Social Compliance is a plus
· Manufacturing experience preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
