Purpose of the Position: The Middle School Principal will be charged with directly leading and overseeing the educational environment and opportunities at Platte Valley Middle School, working to pursue “Excellence for All: For Every Student, Every Day”. This position will be charged with ensuring Platte Valley Middle School’s academic, instructional, co-curricular, and athletic programs meet the needs of Platte Valley’s students and families, teachers, and principals.
Focus of the Position: The Middle School Principal will work with the Superintendent, Director of Student Achievement, building administration, teachers, and staff to focus on providing the short and long-term strategic planning and vision for the instructional, curricular, and programmatic offerings of Platte Valley Middle School. The individual will work to ensure alignment with the District’s K-12 academic offerings working with a team of highly focused, student-centered individuals focused on education. This will include a focus on academic offerings and the District’s Success Skills initiative, aimed at preparing all students for success based on their individual goals for post-secondary life.
School Year and Contract Length/ Days: (2025-2026/220 Days). Primary workday is from 7:00 – 4:00 with some morning and evening meetings and events required. 220 days begins on or about August 1st and goes through on or about June 30th.
Salary: Salary will be based on prior leadership experience. Range to be from $115,000 - $135,000

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Valid Colorado principal license with appropriate endorsement or ability to obtain.
- Master’s degree or higher.
Preferred:
- Three years of demonstrated prior building level leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated leadership highlighting experiences and successes working with students and families on how to be successful in the educational process.
- Experience coordinating or working with MTSS/PBIS teams.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may deem to be necessary and appropriate.
- Bilingual.
Essential Functions and Characteristics:
Educational Leadership
- Participate as a member of theSuperintendent’s executive administration team by providing input and carrying out responsibilities as assigned pertaining to the district’s strategic plan, goals, and improvement efforts.
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate instructional practices to ensure high quality instruction and student achievement.
- Lead, plan, and coordinate professional development for the building throughout the year including building-level Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Back-to-School, and in-service days.
- Provide training and support for teachers and administrators in research-based instructional practices to meet building and district goals.
- Work in conjunction with Director of Student Achievement to lead the implementation and evaluation of the building’s contentstandards, goals, objectives and performance levels to ensure vertical alignment with district curriculum, assessments, instruction and staff development.
- Use data to ensure students are meeting academic growth opportunities that include state assessment, behavioral assessment, teacher data, student involvement, and student accomplishments at regional, state, and national competitions to evaluate the whole-child and academic programming.
- Establish and maintain an effective partnership with the building administration, teachers and district leadership.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as well as relate to and positively engage with all students, staff, and stakeholders for Platte Valley Middle School.
- Lead, guide, and maintain a positive learning and working environment for all students and staff.
- Actively engage, include, and educate Platte Valley stakeholders and community through the District Accountability Committee or other opportunities with community stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, assistance, and guidance for professional growth opportunities for all staff.
Instructional Leadership
- Lead and oversee the instructional program and all areas of Platte Valley Middle School.
