Network Administrator
Duties: Administer the operation, support, development and maintenance of network servers including hardware; application installation, operating systems, access control and manufacturer patches and upgrades; general network health, security and planning required; some support of desktop computers, local area networks (Ethernet, switches, wiring, communications), and network printers may be required. Travel to area school districts and municipalities required.
Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field and one (1) year of work experience in network related support activities; OR an associates degree in computer science and three (3) years of work experience in network related support activities; OR five (5) years of work experience in network related support activities.
This is a competitive class civil service position. Candidates must be reachable on the existing eligibility list. If there is no mandated eligible list, candidates will be considered for provisional appointment. Continued employment will be contingent on successfully passing the required examination and being reachable on the Network Administrator eligibility list.
