Position Overview

This is a high-impact role for an exceptional systems thinker with a rare ability to solve novel problems at the intersection of advanced mathematics, real-world physics, and next-generation artificial intelligence.

As an AI Systems Architect at Imperium AI, you’ll design and optimize full-stack AI architectures that are both elegant and powerful. You won’t just build software—you’ll model dynamic systems, push the boundaries of machine learning infrastructure, and shape the foundational technologies powering our most ambitious innovations.

You’ll be expected to lead with creativity, operate with full ownership, and build with a standard of excellence that reflects our cultural pillars. This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually elite, highly creative, academically trained at the highest levels, and driven to apply their brilliance to impactful work.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect full-stack AI systems — from data ingestion and model training to inference and deployment infrastructure
• Model and simulate physical or computational systems with mathematical precision
• Translate abstract, novel ideas into functional prototypes — and prototypes into scalable systems
• Conduct rigorous system-level design reviews grounded in ethics, excellence, and first-principles thinking
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and leadership
• Lead projects with full accountability in high-velocity, high-ownership environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or PhD strongly preferred in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related scientific field
• Must provide a transcript showing the highest-level completed coursework in mathematics and physics
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex, interdisciplinary problems through deep analytical reasoning and system-level thinking
• Demonstrated ability to apply high-level creative thinking to complex technical problems, translating abstract ideas into functional systems
• Fluent in at least one rigorous programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Julia)
• Familiarity with AI/ML systems, physical modeling, or distributed infrastructure is helpful but not required
• We prioritize intellectual depth, creative rigor, and first-principles problem-solving above all else
