Position Overview

Are you an outgoing, people person who has a love for helping women feel confident through fashion? Abbey Glass is seeking a dynamic, curious and resourceful Public Relations Specialist to join our team and elevate our brand presence through strategic communications, community partnerships, and media relations. This in-person role will be instrumental in supporting our retail initiatives, finding pop-up opportunities, building meaningful relationships with nonprofit organizations and national women's groups, and securing regional and national media coverage for our product launches and company milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Media Relations & Press Coverage

  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies to secure regional and national media coverage
  • Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and influencers
  • Coordinate with marketing team for product launch campaigns and manage media outreach
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports on PR metrics and outcomes

Community Partnerships & Events

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with nonprofit organizations and women's groups locally and nationally
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute retail store events with general managers that drive foot traffic and brand awareness
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute off site pop-ups
  • Represent Abbey Glass at community events, fashion shows, and networking functions
  • Develop partnership agreements and collaborative marketing initiatives
  • Manage event logistics, vendor relationships, and promotional activities

Content Development & Brand Messaging

  • Create compelling content for various channels including press materials, social media, and website
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communications
  • Develop talking points and prepare executives for media interviews
  • Collaborate with marketing team to align PR efforts with broader brand strategy

Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive database of media contacts and community partners
  • Foster long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the community
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of PR initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public relations, communications, or development office environment
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and managing successful PR campaigns or events
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Experience planning and executing events, preferably in retail or community settings
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with women-focused organizations or causes
  • Background in retail, consumer products, or lifestyle brands
  • Established relationships with regional or national media contacts
  • Established relationships with regional or national non-profit, women’s group contacts
  • Demonstrated expertise in event management
  • Experience with PR measurement tools
  • Knowledge of the fashion industry or related CPG sectors
